On Thursday the 9th of August I took my son to the Topsham Fair!
I hadn't been in a long, long time, like 20 years. When I was a kid my Aunt Laurice would take me and my cousin Chrissy to the fair every year and spend gobs of money on us! It was always such a fun time for us, and extremely nice of her to do!
On the way there I was telling Canaan that I didn't have a lot of cash on me because I used the atm at Gardiner Federal Credit Union left my card in it and now it's in multiple pieces!! So on the way there I told him he could go on a couple rides, play a couple games, but that was it! Then we get there and it's $10 per person to get it! But it includes, parking, events, and an unlimited ride bracelet. So I told Canaan he could ride all the rides that he wanted!
But first he wanted to check out the animals, which is awesome that he likes it so much!
Then we went and check out some games and rides. He only played a 3 games, but man were they expensive. On average $3 each and some were $5.
In between rides we check out the Mad Science show that Canaan loved.
I liked it because it was 50 minutes long and saved me cash from playing games or standing around while he went on rides. He would do the same one 3 or 4 times in a row. Although when I ran into Andrew Haughey and Lexie Hatch I was able to stand around and talk with them while he went on rides.
We attended the NWA ON Fire Wrestling show, the reason we went to the fair. It was held on the horse track and they put bleachers on the track itself. I only had the camera on my phone so as it got darker the pictures became less focused.
Sebastian Cruz won a Royal Rumble style battle royal to earn a title shot later in the evening.
Triple Threat Match: East Coast Cowboy defeated Ray Ray Mars & Steve Off in overtime after a 15 minute time limit draw when he hit mars with a leg lariat
Jivin Jimmy Capone defeated Roadblock
Scotty Slade battled Nick Fahrenheit to a double count out
Heavyweight Champion: Brian Fury pinned Sebastian Cruz with a handful of tights.
Canaan then hit a couple more rides before we retired for the evening.
It was great day and Canaan was such a good boy all day long! In total we were at the fair for over 6 hours. Of course we ran into Phil at the wrestling show, why wouldn't we!
