Roy's Review: Beyond Wrestling Americanrana 2017

Here is my review of the Beyond Wrestling's Americanrana Matinee Show at The White Eagle in Worcester, Massachusetts on July 30, 2017.

Match 1: Brian Milonas defeated Ace Romero
Solid big man match but I enjoyed their match at Paying Paul back in January better. There were a few awkward spots and the Vader Bomb finish was very anticlimactic. Despite that, this was a solid match that saw the action spill to the floor early. Good match to open up the day of wrestling.
7/10

In Ring: Cam Zagami comes out and says that this is AmeriCAMrana. He then makes fun of the crowd and issues an open challenge. Good promo.

Match 2: Josh Briggs defeated Cam Zagami
This was pretty much a quick squash. Briggs got the win with an Inverted Crucifix Powerbomb.
4/10

Match 3: Tracy Williams defeated Mikey Webb
Good match. Mikey Webb had dreads which was really weird. People kept making fun of him and for good reason. I wasn't sure if Webb would be able to keep up with Williams' technical style but I was pleasantly surprised. They both fought hard but in the end Williams got the win with a brutal piledriver.
7.5/10

In Ring: Dan Barry, Ryan Galone, Mike Verna and Rex Lawless come out. Barry says that since Lawless is injured, Verna is his replacement. Barry then issues an open challenge to any serious 6 man team. Out comes The Secret City Soldiers: Da Hoodz and Anthony Stone. Barry then makes fun of them and says that Anthony Stone hasn't been relevant in Beyond Wrestling since 2012. Barry says that his guys don't need him to win so it will be a handicap match.

Match 4: Ryan Galone & Mike Verna w/Dan Barry and Rex Lawless defeated The Secret City Soldiers: Da Hoodz: Davey Cash & Kris Pyro and Anthony Stone in a 2 on 3 Handicap Match.
Solid match with Pyro taking a massive beating. When he finally tagged out they had a ton of fast paced offence including a double coast to coast from Pyro and Stone on Galone while Cash hit a running dropkick at the some time. This was pretty sick. The end came when Stone went to break up Verna trying to powerslam both Pyro and Cash but Lawless hit him with a crutch behind the referee's back allowing Galone to toss Stone on the pile and Verna powerslammed them all for the win.
6.75/10

Match 5: Jay Freddie defeated Rory Gulak
I wasn't really sure if this would be a good match or not. Jay Freddie has become on of my favorite guys to watch but Rory Gulak on the other hand hasn't really done much for me since he stopped doing deathmatches. I was impressed with this match though. Gulak showed that he could more than keep up with Freddie in a techincal battle. The match turned to a hard hitting battle towards the end with Gulak taking a very brutal suplex on the ring apron. Freddie got the win with a Fisherman's Suplex.
7.75/10

Match 6: Tom Lawlor w/His Corner Man defeated Bobby Fish
This match had way to much MMA type stuff for my liking but it did turn out to be a solid match. It looks like Lawlor could become another of the MMA guys to transition well into pro wrestling. Lawlor kept going for a rear naked choke throughout the match but Fish kept getting out until the end when he passed out to one and the referee stopped the match.
6.75/10

Match 7: Brandon Watts defeated AR Fox with Shynron as the special referee
This was an awesome match and by far the best on the matinee show. Tons of action all over the place with it spilling to the floor a bunch of times. Fox went to use a chair but referee Kevin Quinn came out and prevented it. Fox shoved Quinn who ripped off his referee shirt and punched Fox allowing Watts to almost get a win with a school boy. Lots more back and forth action followed until Watts his a frog splash elbow for the win. Check this match out its really good.
9/10

In Ring: Shynron congratulates Brandon Watts on his win and puts him over. He then challenges Watts to a match and Watts accepts.

Overall this show scored a 48.75 out of 70 for an overall score of 69.64%. This was solid show with a ton of good wrestling. The main event really stood out as being the best match and is worth the price of the DVD alone. I'm looking forward to the Brandon Watts vs. Shynron match. That should be awesome.

Here is my review of Beyond Wrestling's Americanrana on July 30, 2017 at The White Eagle in Worcester, Massachusetts

Match 1: Team PAWG: Lufisto & Jordynne Grace defeated Doom Patrol: Chris Dickinson & Jaka

Holy Shit, what a crazy match. Grace took a vicious beat down early with Dickinson hitting a brutal German Suplex on her. When Grace finally got the tag the crowd erupted. Many violent looking moves from both teams. In the end Team PAWG got the surprising win with their running double hip attack move on Jaka. The crowd was super into this match and it was an excellent choice for the opener. One of the best inter gender matches I have ever seen.
8.5/10

In Ring: Chris Dickinson says that without Beyond Wrestling he wouldn't be where he is in his career. He then puts over the fans. Then he makes a toast to Beyond Wrestling with Jaka.

Match 2: Jonathan Gresham defeated Brian Cage
I wasn't to sure about this match. Mainly because I'm getting sick of seeing Gresham in the underdog roll against a guy twice his size, but I was pleasantly surprised. Gresham took a beating until he was able to get a hold of Cage's leg. At that point he did a great job of working the leg. This match was solid throughout until the ending. It was very abrupt with Gresham rolling through a submission attempt into a small package for the win.
7.75/10

Match 3: Jon Silver defeated JT Dunn
What an awesome match. I was really looking forward to this one and it blew away my expectations. Many sick spots and Dunn played a excellent hell. Check this match out, you won't be disappointed.
10/10

Match 4: Chuck Taylor w/Orange Cassidy defeated Swoggle in a TLC Match
This match was crazy right from the get to with Swoggle eating chair in the face right as the bell sounded. Now I'm not really into comedy wrestling but I really enjoyed this one. It saw Massage NV, Johnny Cockstrong, The Swamp Monster, Stan Stylez and Dick Justice get involved. Even Trent Barreta came to photo the chaos. Then end came when Taylor hit a piledriver into a bunch of tacks then he rolled up Swoggle for the win. Check this out its some great comedy wrestling.
7/10

Match 5: EYFBO: Angel Ortiz & Mike Draztik defeated The Lucha Bros: Rey Fenix & Pentagon Jr
Awesome match. Tons of high flying from both teams. Draztik and Penta had some vicious chop exchanges. Check this match out it's excellent. You won't be disappointed!
9.75/10

Match 6: David Starr defeated Donovan Dijak
Very good match here. Great leg work by Starr with some great selling by Dijak. Great back and forth action with a bunch of near falls. Near the end Starr took he microphone and dragged Dijak through the mud calling him a sell out. Dijak then came back with a Feast Your Eyes but only got 2. Starr then hit a brainbuster on his knee then an arm clenched german suplex for the win.
8.5/10

In Ring: David Starr puts over Dijak huge, saying that when Biff Busick left Dijak stepped up and filled the void. He went on to say that he was honored to wrestle Dijak and that Dijak is his favorite wrestler. He then gave him well wishes. Dijak took the microphone and said that his last match for Beyond Wrestling will be on August 13th and it will be against Walter.

Match 7: RPG Vice: Trent Barreta & Rocky Romero defeated Da Hit Squad: Dan Maff & Monsta Mack
This was good very heated battle, especially between Monsta Mack and Trent Barreta. For some reason they hate each other. These guys battled hard and all over place with the fight spilling to the floor. The end came when RPG Vice hit a Dudebuster/Double Stomp for the win.
8.25/10

In Ring: Trent Barreta wanted to shake hands with Monsta Mack but when Mack went to shake hands he spit in Trent's face instead.

Match 8: Joey Janela w/Penelope Ford defeated Matt Riddle
Good main event and much better than I expected. I wasn't really sure how the 2 totally different styles would work together but they did. I don't care for Riddle at all but he impressed me in this one. Janela hit some sick spots, a moonsault to the outside, and he even attempted a somersault onto the apron but Riddle moved and Janela smashed his ass. How he didn't break his tailbone is beyond me. Surprisingly Janela got the win with a Crippler Crossface making Riddle tap out.
8.25/10

This show scored a 68 out of 80 for an overall score of 85% What an awesome show. One of the best I have ever seen live. Everyone fought very hard and put forth their best efforts. Silver vs. Dunn was unbelievable and the intergender tag match was completely insane. When this comes out on DVD do yourself a favor and buy it. You won't be disappointed.

Roy's Review: Limitless Wrestling "Can We Kick It" April 28, 2017

Here is my review of Limitless Wrestling's Can We Kick It in Portland, Maine on April 28, 2017.

Match 1: Lio Rush defeated Jon Silver
Awesome match and an excellent opener. These guys destroyed each other trading brutal kicks. It seemed a little short but they filled the time they had with a ton of action.
9/10

Match 2: The Maine State Posse: Danger Kid & Aidan Aggro defeated Massage NV: VSK & Dorian Graves,  and Jeremy Leary & Skylar in a Triple Threat Match
Good match that had lots of fast paced action with a little comedy thrown in. Randomly during the match Leary body slammed Chris Barry. Massage NV kept trying to give a massage to Leary and he kept getting pissed. Later in the match Skylar volunteer for a massage but got stomped instead. After the match Danger Kid was really pissed at Leary and Skylar for some reason.
8/10

Match 3: Joey Janela defeated Mr. Grim
This was my first time seeing Janela actually wrestle and I was impressed. He had a great match with Mr. Grim. I was a little disappointed I didn't get to see the jumping tombstone but that's okay because the match was really good.
8/10

Match 4: Brandon Watts vs. Tyler Nitro w/Mike Gamble
This was a solid match but I kinda expected more. There was a bunch of problems between Nitro and Gamble. Gamble was trying to help Nitro but he didn't want the help. In the end Gamble caused Nitro to lose. After the match they had some words.
7/10

Match 5: Donovan Dijak defeated Mikey Webb
Awesome match. The best Mikey Webb singles match I have ever seen. Lots of hard hitting power moves and some ringside brawling as well. Check this out its really good.
9/10

Match 6: Ethan Page defeated David Starr
Another good match. These guys fought really hard. The more I see both of these guys, the more they grow on me. I was kind surprised to see Page get the win.
8/10

Match 7: Jay Freddie defeated Chris Dickinson
Awesome match. These guys beat the hell out of each other. Jay Freddie is one of the most underrated guys on the indys right now. This match was really even with both guys answer the others moves. The finish was kinda dumpy only because Barry fucked up the count which really pissed off Dickinson. Check this match out, its really good.
9/10

Match 8: Troy Nelson defeated Dick Justice w/Sidney Bakabella
If your into comedy matches, which I'm not, then you might have enjoyed this. I could do without ever seeing Dick Justice again. Almost no wrestling in this one. It really wasn't for me.
3/10

Match 9: Xavier Bell defeated Dan Barry, Josh Briggs, Jimmy Lloyd, Alexander Lee, Manny Martinez, Kai Katana and Owen Brody in an 8 Man Scramble Match
This match was really fun because there was action all over the place the entire time. Josh Briggs really impressed me. I hope he comes back. Bell got the win his sick piledriver finisher.
7.5/10

Match 10: Ace Romero defeated Michael Elgin
Great main event. These guys beat the hell out of each other with tons of hard strikes. Romero took everything Elgin had and then some. In end Ace got the win after a Boss Man Slam variation. Check this one out its great.
9/10

This show scored 77.5 out of 100 for an overall score of 77.5%. This is one of the best shows I have ever seen live and it may be the best Limitless Wrestling show in its short history. There are 3 matches rated 9/10 and there was only 1 stinker, but that really depends on taste in wrestling. Do yourself a favor and buy this DVD when it comes out. It will be worth every cent.

Roy's Review: NEW King of Bethany 11/12/2016

Here is my review of Northeast Wrestling's King of Bethany on November 12, 2016 in Bethany, Connecticut.

Match 1: Donovan Dijak defeated Jimmy Preston to advance in the King of Bethany Tournament
This was really kinda average and slightly boring. Dijak is awesome and Preston is solid but for some reason they just didn't click.
5.75/10

In Ring: Ron Zombie comes out and says that he was injured in a Final Deletion Match with Matt
Hardy vs. Team Sazaam the week before and he blames it on Dan De Man.

Match 2: Vinny Marseglia defeated Keith Youngblood to advance in the King of Bethany Tournament
Solid match. A good match from Marsgelia. It looked like Youngblood was going to win but in the end Vinny got the win after a Swanton Bomb.
7/10

Match 3: Big Jym Anderson defeated Sully Banger w/The Warlock
This was a quick squash
2/10

In Ring: Big Jym Anderson says that since Ron Zombie is out of the tournament, that means there is an open spot to face Wrecking Ball Legursky. Wrecking Ball comes out but is kind of hesitant. Anderson then calls him Wrecking No Balls. Wrecking Ball then accepts the challenge.

Match 4: Wrecking Ball Legursky w/Marshall McNeil fought Big Jym Anderson to a double DQ in a King of Bethany Tournament Match
This was quick but they beat the hell out of each other. They continued to fight after the bell until Legursky hit a World's Strongest Slam and left.
3/10

Match 5: Flip Gordon defeated Mike Bennett to advance in the King of Bethany Tournament
Good match with Bennett working Flip's arm for a portion of the match. A good comeback for Flip with a few false finishes. Flip got the surprise upset win with a springboard superkick.
8/10

Match 6: TK O'Ryan defeated Warbeard Hanson to become #1 Contender to the Northeast Wrestling Championship
Great match that spilled to the floor early. Lots of great back and forth action. Hanson tweeked his knee early and TKO took advantage of that by getting a submisson win with the Glue Factory. These two guys put on a hell of a match.
9/10

Ringside: Vik Delicious and Ant Battle come out from the back fighting. Hale Collins comes out and he helps Delicious double team Battle until Chris Battle comes out with chairs and chases off The Now.

Match 7: Flip Gordon defeated Donovan Dijak to advance in the King of Bethany Tournament
Solid match that saw Flip take a vicious chokeslam on the ring apron, then get dominated by Dijak. Flip got another surprise upset win, this time with a West Coast Pop. After the bell Dijak wrecked Flip with a Feast Your Eyes.
7/10

Match 8: Mark Shurman defeated Scotty Slade by DQ
This was the battle of former Team Friendship partners. This only lasted a few minutes and was really average. The DQ came when Donovan Dijak came out and attacked Shurman until Jimmy Preston chased off Slade and Dijak. Apparently in NEW Slade is a member of The American Destroyers.
3/10

In Ring: NEW Champion Brian Anthony and his manager Steve Stamos came to the ring for a championship celebration. Stamos had a video package created for Anthony. They put each other over for a few minutes then a cake is brought out. TK O'Ryan comes out and says he wants some of the cake. TKO then gets a ton of cheap pops until he goes in the ring and jams Stamos into the cake.

Flip Gordon
Match 9: Flip Gordon defeated Vinny Marseglia to win the King of Bethany Tournament
Good main event with Flip playing the underdog very well. Vinny introduced a chair but the referee took it away allowing Flip to get the advantage for a few minutes. Vinny hit a Swanton Bomb and surprisingly Flip kicked out. Flip then hit a 450 Splash but Vinny kicked out. Flip then hit a Corkscrew splash off the top for the win.
8.5/10

Overall this show scored a 53.25 out of 90 for an overall score of 59.16%. I have always enjoyed the tournament format and this show was no different. There were some bad matches but also some really good ones. Check this show out for the great performances by Flip Gordon as well as O'Ryan vs. Hanson.

Roy's Review: Beyond Wrestling 1/28/2017 Robbing Peter

Here is my review of Beyond Wrestling's Robbing Peter on January 28 in Somerville, Mass:

Match 1: The Secret City Soldiers: Anthony Stone, Davey Cash and Kris Pyro defeated Biff's Kids: Ace Romero, Xavier Bell and Sully Banger
This was kind of a squash to put over the Secret City Soldiers. Biff's Kids fought hard but they didn't really last long. For reasons I don't understand Sully Banger was kind of over with the crowd. I've seen him wrestle 3 or 4 times now and I just don't see it.
5.75/10

Match 2: OI4K: Dave and Jake Crist and Scarlet & Graves: Dezmond Xavier and Zachary Wentz w/JT Davidson defeated Team New England Pro Wrestling Academy: Elias Markopoulous, Mikey Webb, Scotty Slade and Christian Cassanova
Good match with lots of high flying stuff all over the place. Many crazy spots. The Crist's got the win with a double stomp tombstone.
7.75/10

Match 3: LuFisto and Jordynne Grace defeated Davienne and Belmont w/Sammi Lane
This was nothing more than a squash. Belmont took a vicious powerbomb on the ring apron leaving Davienne to get annihilated.
3/10

In Ring: Veda Scott comes out with Ryan Galeone for her scheduled match with Sonya Strong but Strong wasn't there. Veda then challenges anyone man or women to a match but nobody comes out.

Match 4: Ryan Galeone w/Veda Scott defeated Warbeard Hanson
Good big man match. Galeone is a very talented as a wrestler but has the personality of a rock. Hanson on the other hand is really growing on me. Veda Scott got involved many times in this match. Galeone got the surprise with with a dead-lift powerbomb that looked kind of weak.
7/10

Match 5: JT Dunn defeated Brian Milonas
Good match with JT playing the underdog and taking a ton of damage early on but came back to get the win with a roaring elbow to a downed Milonas. I can't say it enough, Milonas is an awesome 400 lbs wrestler. Why he never made outside of the New England area before this year is beyond me.
7.5/10

In Ring: JT Dunn says that he is the best in Beyond Wrestling and everyone is gonna find that out. He says that he isn't going to leave until he beats the hell out of Dave Cole. JT goes over to Cole's paintings and trashes them. Cole gets pissed and tries to attack JT with the pointed end of a bunch of paint brushes but it gets broken up. Rich Palladino then announces that Cole vs. Dunn the next night in Worcester is now No DQ.

Match 6: EYFBO: Angel Ortiz and Mike Draztik defeated The Pretty Boy Killers: Keith Lee and Shane Taylor
Good match with EYFBO playing the underdogs. They have become one of my favorite tag teams. They are great wrestlers and are very entertaining. The crowd really loves Keith Lee but I am over him. He just doesn't really do it for me.
7.25/10

Match 7: Massage NV: Dorian Graves and VSK defeated Alpha Sigma Sigma: Big Daddy Beluga and Anthony Greene w/Patty Boom Boom the Blow up Doll
This was a comedy match and not a very good one at that. I don't like comedy matches which made me not like this one even more. Greene was wrestling in street clothes which was weird and I can more than do without the Big Daddy Beluga gimmick. Massage NV popped the Blow up Doll with popped the crowd.
2/10

Match 8: Joey Janela w/Penelope Ford defeated David Starr, Jonathan Gresham and Jon Silver in a Fatal 4 Way
Good match but seemed kind of rushed. Some fast paced action but was way to short. I would have enjoyed at least another 10 minutes. Janela got the win with a tombstone on Starr then stole Starr's WXW Shotgun Title.
7/10

Match 9: The American Wolves: Eddie Edwards and Davey Richards defeated Da Hit Squad: Dan Maff and Monsta Mack
I really enjoy Da Hit Squad and they put on a good performance here and did the Wolves. Good back and forth action with both teams beating the hell out of each other. There was a very scary spot where Monsta Mack went for a suplex on the second rope on Richards but seemed to lose his balance and they fell to floor hitting the ring steps on the way down. Fortunately both men were fine and continued the match. The Wolves got the win with a brainbuster/spin kick combo.
8/10

Match 10: Brian Cage defeated Donovan Dijak
Good main event with a great mix of power moves and high flying. The story going in was that Dijak had lost his last few matches and wanted to avenge his loses but Matt Riddle is the only one left in Beyond that he lost to. He wanted to fight Riddle but Riddle wasn't there and was fighting Cage the next night, so Dijak challenged Cage and was going to destroy him so he couldn't fight Riddle and Dijak would take his place. It didn't end that way because Cage got the very hard fought win with a suplex screwdriver. After the match Mikey Webb came out to check on Dijak. Dijak then took the mic but wouldn't talk because he lost yet again.
8.75/10

Overall this show scored a 64 out of 100 for a 64%. This show is worth checking out. There are some dumpy matches but the good more than out weighted the bad. The main event lived up to what I expected and Dunn vs. Milonas surprised me.

Roy's Review: Limitless Wrestling Unreal 1/27/2017

Here is my review of Limitless Wrestling's Unreal.

Match 1: Flip Gordon defeated Jon Silver
Good match and a great choice for the opener. Great fast paced action that got the crowd going.
8/10

Match 2: The Maine State Posse: Danger Kid and Aidan Aggro defeated Tyler Nitro and Cam Zagami w/Mike Gamble
Good tag match. MSP is ever improving and is super over. I like Tyler Nitro but I'm still not quite sure about Zagami
7/10

Match 3: Troy Nelson defeated Mike Gamble w/Cam Zagami
This didn't really do it for me. I would have much rather seen Nelson battle someone better than Gamble
3/10

Match 4: Connor Murphy defeated Anthony Gangone
This was a solid match. I was very surprised that Murphy won. I like Murphy and would like to see him become a regular. Gangone on the other hand, I still don't like him. He plays a great asshole heel but other than that he just doesn't do it for me
7/10

Match 5: Veda Scott defeated Tessa Blanchard
Great women's match and potentially the best women's match in Limitless Wrestling so far. I really enjoy Veda Scott as she is a solid wrestler and a great heel. Blanchard is a very talented wrestler and it baffles me that she isn't in NXT
8.25/10

Match 6: Ace Romero and Anthony Greene defeated The American Destroyers: Donovan Dijak and Mikey Webb
Absolutely excellent! So many unbelievable spots. I don't understand how Webb didn't injure himself lifting Ace and the Canadian Destroyer from Dijak on Ace was sick.
10/10

Match 7: Brian Milonas defeated Warbeard Hanson, Max Smashmaster and Big Daddy Beluga in a Fatal 4 Way
Solid big guy match. I really enjoy Milonas. Warbeard is growing on me and I could really go either way on Smashmaster. Beluga on the other hand needs to stop using that gimmick. It was funny the first time but now I'm sick of it and kinda groan when he comes out now
7/10

Match 8: David Starr defeated Xavier Bell
Good match. One of the best Xavier Bell matches yet. How Starr didn't get injured when he crashed into the chairs next to me is beyond me - note: he damaged the chair my cousin was sitting in - ML
7.75/10

Match 9: Skylar defeated Jeremy Leary
I don't like Leary. I don't know why I just don't. I was really disappointed when the Minute Men couldn't make it cause that would have been a bad ass tag match. What we got was okay. A much better story to the match than Ricochet vs. Tessa Blanchard at Beyond Wrestling's Midas Touch. The tombstone spot was really scary
6.75/10

Match 10: Mike Graca defeated Adam Booker
Really cool entrance for Graca. Other than that really kinda average. Just like all of Adam Booker's other matches in Limitless
6/10

Match 11: JT Dunn defeated Cody Rhodes
Great main event. I had never seen Cody go like this before. JT proved why he is one of the best in New England. Just a great match
9/10

Overall this show scored a 79.75 out of 110 for a 72.5% score. Top to bottom this was just an awesome show. I enjoyed everything except for the Nelson vs. Gamble match. That didn't really need to happen. Ace and Greene vs. Dijak and Webb was unreal and Dunn vs. Rhodes was a great wrestling match. I would recommend this show to anyone who likes wrestling.

Limitless Wrestling: "Unreal" report 1/27/2017

Friday January 27, 2017 Limitless Wrestling presented Unreal featuring "American Nightmare" Cody Rhodes at the Armory in Westbrook, Maine.  Tickets practically sold out in advance which is unheard of for independent wrestling in Maine.

Canaan, Paul, Alex, & I made the drive south looking forward to a great night of wrestling action.  We met Roy, Mickey, Cheryl and others at the venue.  VIP was supposed to be let in at 6:15 but doors didn't open until a little after 6:30.

We claimed out seats and then got in line for Cody Rhodes, we were at the front.  Cody was so friendly and took the time to speak to everyone.  He saw my son stuck his hand to shake Canaan's and asked him how he was doing.  I asked him about wrestling at the Tokyo Dome for Wrestle Kingdom 11 and he said it was ten of the best minutes of his life.

Now I've meet a lot of "big name" wrestlers and for most of them that would of been the end of the conversation because the question was answered and he had a line ahead of him.  Instead he kept on talking about the show telling me a story about his entrance for the match.  The general consensus I got from everyone that night was how nice Cody is.

Next up Canaan and I got our picture with Tess Blanchard, third generation wrestler and daughter of one of my all time favorites Tully Blanchard.  I had gotten a photo with her previously at the Boston Pro Wrestling Marathon so I had her sign that one.

Once the General Admission crowd was let in the building really filled up.  Randy even sold some standing room only tickets so you could definitely say it was a sell out.  The show started late, but for good reason, people were still in line to meet Cody and other wrestlers.

Jon Silver defeated Flip Gordon
Great match between these two to get the crowd going that earned a standing ovation when it was over.  Silver is such a powerhouse that you forget that he's short.  Flip is one of my favorites to watch.  I'd really like to see him against someone like Ricochet or Matt Sydal who are both March 17th when Limitless returns to Westbrook.

Maine State Posse defeated Cam Zagami & Tyler Nitro w/ Mike Gamble
The Posse continue to improve and are over with the crowd.  I like the team of Zagami and Nitro and I think they have a chance at being a great tag team.  But they are already teasing hostility and dissension between the two.

Troy Nelson pinned Mike Gamble
Zagami issued an open challenge for anyone to fight Gamble and out came Top Shelf fresh from the commentary booth drink in hand.  Match was very quick with Nelson getting the pin on Gamble after Zagami accidentally superkicked him.

"Celtic" Connor Murphy pinned "The Rogue" Anthony Gangone
I forget how good Murphy is at times.  I know he's been wrestling for almost 15 years but the last few years I believe it's been sporadically, and yet he's still really good in the ring.  The more I see Gangone the more I like him. I hope he continues coming to Limitless.

Courtesy of Philster

Veda Scott pinned Tessa Blanchard
These two ladies put on a hell of a match, it didn't get the reaction that it deserved from those in attendance.  They both worked hard with with Veda getting the win after poking Blanchard in the eye when the ref was trying to separate them in the ropes and hitting her finish.

Anthony Greene & Ace Romero defeated American Destroyers: Donovan Dijak & Mikey Webb
This was the match of the night hands down!  First off you have Greene & Romero's entrance to Take Me Home Tonight with live guitar accompaniment that had a large part of the audience singing along.  The match it self was fantastic!  I don't know if I have the words, but the four of them started slow and picked up the pace to a tremendous level.  I feel like they went 30 minutes until Greene got the pin on Dijak after a 450 splash.

Intermission followed which was needed as the emotional ride this previous match had taken us on, we needed the break.  During the break I ran into a guy, I can't recall his name, who commented he was  fan the podcast which was really cool and unexpected.

I took this photo of Tessa at intermission posing with the Shimmer tag team championship.

"Kingpin" Brian Milonas defeated Warbeard Hanson, Big Daddy Beluga, & Max Smashmaster
Great big man match that had Hanson come off the top rope to the floor on the other three competitors.  Post match Hanson leveled Milonas with a spin kick

David Starr pinned Xavier Bell
This was billed as a WXW Shotgun Championship match.  Starr came to the ring without the title stating that Bell didn't deserve a title match, but if he beat him then would get a title match in March.  Typically in this circumstance Bell would get the win, but that didn't happen.

My first time seeing Starr in person and I am now a huge fan!  He's really great in the ring and uses subtle humor while maintaining being a heel.  I really want to see him back in March.

Skylar pinned Jeremy Leary

This was initially booked as a tag match with these two teaming against The M1nute Men.  However Devin Blaze was injured in a car crash.  Leary and Skylar are in real life a couple which they used in the match.  The match was ok, really scary moment when Skylar hit Leary with a tombsone piledriver.

Mike Graca pinned Adam Booker
This was an open challenge match that Graca answered.  Bad ass entrance for Grace with a sally port door opening and an ambulance backed partially into the building with Graca coming out of the back.  Great match a couple scary moments with Booker suplexing Graca from the floor onto the edge of the ring and Graca tombstone piledriving Booker.  I really like both these guys, Booker for years, and want to see them on every show.

JT Dunn pinned "American Nightmare" Cody Rhodes
I was surprised that Dunn got the win as many were.  I've noticed a trend in independent wrestling where promotions are seemingly working together to tell stories for those traveling headliners.  Which is pretty cool when you think about it.

Top to bottom it was an awesome night of wrestling.  The final match ended at 11:40pm, we hit the Burger King drive thru, grabbed a polar pop at the Circle K and headed north.  By the time we got home I was spent and ready for bed.

Last year I only made it to six shows and I've already got 4 shows planned out in the first six months of 2017.  Staring out right!

Roy's Review: Limitless Wrestling: Risk it for the Biscuit 10/7/2016

Here are the the results from Risk it for the Bisquit in Westbrook last night:

Match 1: Anthony Greene defeated Tyler Nitro w/Mike Campbell. Good solid match and good choice to open up the show. Greene is super over and for good reason. Nitro is becoming a good addition to the roster.
7/10

Match 2: Scott Slade defeated Flex Rumblecrunch and Mikey Webb in a Triple Threat Match. Solid match but nothing really special. This was kinda what you would expect from these guys. Webb played a good heel. He would make a great addition to the roster.
6.75/10

Match 3: Xavier Bell defeated Danny Miles.  Bell has enough charisma for the 2 of them. They beat the hell out of each other in this one. Bell was supposed to get the win with a sitout powerbomb but Barry botched the count. They did a few more spots and Bell won after a piledriver.
7.75/10

Match 4: JT Dunn and Mike Graca defeated The Maine State Posse (Danger Kid and Aidan Aggro). Good tag match. MSP really stepped it up in this one and showed they can hang with some of the best in New England. I was surprised how well Dunn and Graca worked together since I've never heard of them teaming before. MSP has taken over the roll as top tag team in Limitless Wrestling.
8/10

Match 5: Nick McKenna defeated Geno Bauer, Owen Brody and Adam Booker in a Fatal 4 Way. Solid match but nothing really special. McKenna was super over. Aside from a few dives to the outside, not really much to talk about.
5/10

Match 6: Ace Romero defeated Anthony Gangone. This was the best performance I've seen from Gangone. He beat up Ace for most of the match and busted open Ace's nose. Lots of good solid action in this one.
7.5/10

Match 7: Tommy Mack defeated Sully Banger. This was basically a squash with Banger getting the shit kicked out of him.
3.75/10

Match 8: The Tenacious Two (Johnny Torres and Scott Wild) defeated Jeremy Leary and Skylar. Awesome match. This was way better than expected. Skylar took a massive beating like a champ. Wild beat the ever loving piss out of her. The crowd was super into this one. Check this out.
8.75/10

Match 9: Brian Fury defeated Donovan Dijak. Good match but not nearly as good as their first match at Americanrana 2015. Its to bad the match before this killed the crowd because this match deserved way more from the crowd than it got. It started kinda slow but they were beating the shit out of each other after about 5 minutes. Just a really good solid match.
8/10

A good show and a great turnout for only having promoted it for 10 days. Matches 7 and 8 should have been swapped. That would have avoided the crowd being killed for the main event.

Live Report Ring of Honor All Star Extravaganza VIII results

On September 30, 2016 in Lowell, Ma I attended....

And it was amazing!

I say "I attended" but I wasn't alone, traveling down from Maine together in Vanna was Roy, Mikey, Josh & Jesse.  We played another one of Roy's awesome wrestling road games.  This one was guess the member of the faction.  For instance, The Dangerous Alliance, DX, Four Horsemen, and ect.  We got to the venue and parked out back for $10 about 5pm.  Jay had gotten there before us and parked somewhere else.

We walked the 3/10 of a mile to Jimmy John's for dinner.  We didn't have to eat there but I was at least required to get my wife her favorite sandwich.  After dinner we walked back to the venue and awaited the doors to open at 7:30.  It started raining while we were outside, luckily just an on and off sprinkle that was very tolerable.

When the doors opened we were right near the front with the line stretching far down the block.  I'd rather stand in line early and get in sooner to check out the souvenir stand and get my autographs done and have time to mill around inside before the show than get there late and be in line right up until show time.  Being a worldwide pay per view broadcast this show was starting on time.

Ring of Honor had advertised a few members of the roster for a pre-show autograph and picture session which was $20 to get a photo and autograph.  Of those listed that I hadn't met before the only one I cared about Dalton Castle! And you can see the photo I had taken with Castle and The Boys is awesome!

He was so cool to talk to as well.  He has so much charisma and he's really good in the ring, one of my favorite guys.  I got him to sign a card for me and he gave me and 8 X 10 as well.  I also had a great chat with Colt Cabana about his podcast and recent match with Jay Lethal.

The other guys got photos with different people, I put those at the end.  We checked out the souvenir stand where I broke my rule on buying anything and got a Dalton Castle t-shirt.  I also snagged this quick photo with Mandy Leon who was hanging out in lobby doing social media stuff for ROH.

Our seats were amazing!  I was lucky because I was front row on the entrance aisle.  The video screen was behind us but that was quickly solved by turning around.

I have never sat in the front row before at a show of this caliber with this type of production value.  I've been to two WrestleMania's, SummerSlam, Survivor Series, Raw, Backlash, Royal Rumble, and a WCW Monday Nitro, and I have never felt the emotional exhaustion that I felt at the end of this show before.

Pre-Show

Triple Threat Silas Young defeated Evil and Will Ferrara
Good solid opener to the show with Young picking up the victory getting the pinfall on Ferrara who wasn't happy about it.  Young sarcastically shook Ferrara's hand after winning while he was still on the mat, it was great!  I hope this match is included on the DVD release.

Live PPV

World Television Championship: "Infamous" Bobby Fish defeated Donovan Dijak w/ Prince Nana via referee stoppage with the rear naked choke.

Dijak was over huge with this hometown crowd that wanted Dijak to win the championship badly.  Fish was treated like the Yankees at Fenway Park even though he's usually a popular baby face.  Dijak had members of his training school accompany him to the ring in track suits: including Anthony Greene, Mikey Webb, Scotty Slade, and trainer Brian Fury.

The crowd wasn't pleased that Dijak lost.  This was a great match to open the broadcast with as it really popped the crowd for the PPV.

Four Way Tag Team Match: Dalton Castle w/ the Boys & Colt Cabana vs. The Cabinet: Rhett Titus & Kenny King w/ Caprice Coleman vs. Keith Lee & Shane Taylor vs. War Machine: Raymond Row & Warbeard Hanson

Of these four teams Dalton Castle got the biggest pop followed by Colt.  Solid match that felt short, War Machine and Keith Lee & Shane Taylor kept attacking each other during the match which was awesome because they are all big guys and were throwing the heavy hands.

Because of the style of match anyone could tag anyone which lead at one point to Colt and Castle being in the ring at the same time.  After the circled each other Castle slowly lowered himself to the mat and Colt went for the pin which was broken up.

The match broke down which lead to an awesome segment of everyone hitting a big move on each other with Rowe hitting an overhead belly to belly suplex on Taylor that was impressive, as was the slow holding German suplex Dalton nailed Lee with, as was the dive that Lee did onto the floor.

Dalton hit Bankarang on Titus for the pin.  The crowd was very hot into this match as well.

Dragon Lee defeated Kamaitachi

Going into this match I hadn't been impressed with Kamaitachi and I didn't know much about Dragon Lee except that this was his debut match for ROH and that he's the current CMLL World Lightweight Champion.

Moments into the match Tachi was on the floor and Lee launched himself through the ropes faster than I'd ever seen before.  Tachi quickly got the upper hand with a sunset flip and deadlift powerbomb on the floor.  The match spilled into the crowd for a moment before returning to the ring.

For sixteen minutes these two dropped each other on the back of their heads trying to get the win until Lee nailed a suplex I'd never seen before for the three count.  The crowd, we were in a frenzy the entire match.  It was exhausting.

Kyle O'Reilly pinned Hangman Page

This was a good match, sadly with us being so worked up for the three previous matches we needed to recover and this match didn't get the reaction it should have.  It was also very contrasting in styles from fast paced mayhem to mat based submission wrestling.  Post match Page beat down O'Reilly ending with putting his arm in a chair and slamming it into the ring post.  Fish made the save and he and Page jaw jacked a bit.  Looks like Page will be going after the Television Championship.

Kushida, ACH, & Jay White defeated The Briscoe Brothers: Mark & Jay and Toru Yano

During his entrance ACH went through the crowd and used my head to balance himself as he stepped on the guardrail posing a moment before dropping to the floor.

This was an opening round tournament match for the inaugural Six Man Tag Team Championships.  I was really looking forward to seeing Jay White in person as I've really enjoyed him in New Japan.  I wish he would have done more in the match though.

I was very surprised to see the Briscoes and Yano lose the match, I would have guessed them being the favorites to win as they previously held the NEVER Openweight Six Man Tag Team Championships.  Briscoes are the current IWGP Tag Team Champions and Yano half of the NOAH GHC Tag Team Champions.

A solid match with six faces the Briscoes being the favorites of the crowd in the contest.  ACH hit Midnight Star on Yano for the pin.

Jay Lethal defeated IWGP Intercontinental Champion: Tetsuya Naito w/ Evil

Crowd was excited for both with Lethal being the crowd favorite.  Solid match with the ref getting pulled to the floor and Evil getting involved in the match.  I thought it would draw a disqualification keeping both wrestlers from having to lose considering the are both top talent for their respective companies.

However I was shocked that Lethal got a clean pin in the center of the ring after hitting Lethal Injection.

World Champion: Adam Cole pinned "Unbreakable" Michael Elgin

It was great to see Cole as champion, the crowd wasn't into this match much, probably because they didn't think there was a chance that Elgin was going to win.  Great match with Cole working the knee and Elgin hitting his big Elgin moves.

Cole got the win with a combination of superkicks, shining wizards, and finally the Last Shot.

Ladder Wars Six
The Young Bucks: Nick & Matt Jackson defeated Tag Team Champions: The Addiction: Christopher Daniels & Frankie Kazarian and Motor City Machine Guns: Alex Shelly & Chris Sabin to win the titles

I've been sitting here trying to think of a single word adjective to describe this match and the only thing I can think of is unbelievable because I literally could not believe what I was witnessing with my own eyes.

Leading up to this match Christopher Daniels cut an amazing promo that you couldn't help but be moved by it, even so the Young Bucks were clearly the crowd favorite as "YOUNG BUCKS" was screamed from the top to the bottom of the venue.

They jumped right into it and for 24 minutes they beat the tar out of each other with The Young Bucks and Daniels taking the majority of the punishing moves.  I've heard Jim Ross use the description of a human demolition derby and that is an accurate description.

At one point during the match Nick Jackson was on top of a ladder, the other four contenders picked the ladder up and carried it over to the side of the ring and tipped it over sending Nick crashing through a table to the floor directly in front of me.  I felt the floor shake under the my feet and I was genuinely concerned for the Nick's well being.

Jay White ran out to assist the Machine Guns, and paid for it.

Near the end it was set up for Kazarian to take a Meltzer Driver through a table, Nick could have grabbed the belts but instead went for the driver, which was impressive.  I thought for sure that the Bucks would lose after this but instead the Bucks climbed the ladder and took down the belts becoming two time Ring of Honor tag team champions.

After the match Daniels was a bloody mess and crying apologizing to Kaz for losing the belts.  The crowd was chanting Daniels name and with him crying, the emotion was raw and real and it swept me away and I got teary eyed.

This was such a great show with everyone giving their all for this show.  I can't imagine I'll ever see another match like Ladder Wars 6 in person again.  Near the end of the contest every time the Bucks hit a superkick the crowd screamed superkick.  I feel like I've used amazing a lot to describe this match and even this show, but it was, the whole event was just amazing!

The show ended about midnight and we drove Jay to his car.  We stopped at the Circle K next to the Cracker Barrel at the Tewksbury Exit. Funny enough I ran into Ben Boudreau who had also gone to the show.

We dropped Mikey and Roy off in Auburn about 3am and rolled into my place at 3:40 am.  The Dorrs got home about 5:20 am.  It was a very long day, but it was very worth it.  Such an amazing event!
