Limitless Wrestling Hogwash

Here are the results from Hogwash last night:

Match 1: Anthony Greene defeated Ethan Page. Good opener as always from Anthony Greene. Before the match Page was great making fun of the crowd. The national anthem guitar guy played Greene's entrance theme. Good back and forth action. Green improves to 10-0.

Match 2: Cam Zagami and Tyler Nitro w/Mike Campbell defeated Da Hoodz (Kris Pyro and Davey Cash). Good match. It was kinda weird that Da Hoodz were face since they have always been heel in Maine. Zagami got the pin after he gave both Pyro and Cash low blows.

Match 3: Big Daddy Beluga defeated Davienne. Before the match Brick Mastone came out and told Davienne that someone else wanted to wrestle her way more than him. He told her to sit in a chair and wait. Out comes Mastone dressed as a male stripper and he proceeded to give her a dance. The match was fun and super entertaining. It was nice to see Mastone and not have people chant baby Rusev.

Match 4: Xavier Bell defeated Adam Booker. This was a decent match but nothing really special. Both guys are good but seem to be missing that something. Nice to see Bell get another win since he is super over.

Match 5: The Maine State Posse (Danger Kid and Aidan Aggro) defeated Jeremy Leary and Skylar. Good match. This is the best way to use Skylar. She shined again just like in Westbrook. Good back and forth action. Many good spots. Keep Leary and Skylar as a team.

Match 6: Mike Graca defeated Rex Lawless, Francis Kip Stevens and Space Monkey in a Fatal 4 Way. Decent 4 way but not a match that really jumps out. Lawless is kinda boring. I enjoyed Space Monkey the most in this one which is surprising since I don't really like comedy wrestling anymore.

Match 7: Shane Sabre defeated Kobe Durst. Really good match. I had seen Durst before and knew he was good. This was my first time seeing Sabre and I was very impressed. Great back and forth action and some good spots including a Code Breaker off the top. The only problem with this one is Durst doesn't really have a personality. If he could somehow find one he would be the total package.

Match 8: Troy Nelson defeated Smart Mark Sterling. This was your typical Troy Nelson comedy match that got the crowd going.

Match 9: Ace Romero defeated Brian Fury. Good main event. Fury did some great arm work on Romero. These guys fought hard and gave the crowd good last match for Fury. Surprisingly Romero got the win. After the match there was an excellent show of respect shown for Fury. Greene came in and challenged Ace to a match but Fury interrupted and said he would rather see them team.

Good show and one of the better Limitless Wrestling shows. It had a nice flow and there wasn't a bad match. I'm looking forward to seeing Cody Rhodes in January.

Random notes: I think, all around, Page is one of best names brought in. Big Daddy Beluga is hilarious. Francis Kip Stevens is so good. I liked Durst, loved Sabre. Sterling would be a great addition to the roster, bringing him in every so often.

Limitless Wrestling: Who Watches the Watchmen results 10/29/2016

Once again the troops rallied for another pro wrestling adventure.  This time around Canaan, Alex, Mikey and Myself headed north to Orono for Limitless Wrestling's Who Watches the Watchmen.  This show was part of the Bangorefest Horror Convention so instead of the usually American Legion Hall it was at the University of Maine Orono campus.  Roy, Josh, and Cheryl met us there.  An added bonus was that JD made the drive from Vermont.  I hadn't seen him since Boston Pro Wrestling Marathon back in 2015.

"All Good" Anthony Greene vs. "Slyck" Wagner Brown
I first saw Slyck back in 1998, but the last few years only sporadically.  SWB still looks good in the ring as he and Greene had a great match.

The opening was explosive as SWB hit Greene with a face bump splash mountain as Greene was posing to the crowd during his entrance.  Solid match with great back and forth action.  Greene picked up the win to continue his undefeated streak in Limitless Wrestling.

House of Glory Champion: Anthony Gangone vs. Xavier Bell
Started off as a methodical mat based match with both men exchanging holds.  Action picked up along the way and Bell got a three count to win the title.

After the fact the ref saw that Gangone's foot was under the bottom rope and restarted the match, which lead to a low blow and a win for Gangone.

 Good match, I like both of these guys but I'm a huge fan of Xavier Bell.  I want to see them both come back.

Anything Goes
The Tenacious Two: Scotty Wild & Johnny Torres w/ Maximum Mecca vs. Maine State Posse: Aiden Argo & Danger Kid
Wild Texas tornado style match with action spilling all around the ringside area.  Over the last year the Posse have worked so hard to improve and get better in the ring.  I would say they are the two top new talent in Maine.  Wild and Torres got the win when Wild was holding both members of the Posse and Torres nailed a double foot stomp.

On  a side note, I've seen Wild wrestle for years as both a face and a heel and I've enjoyed him in the ring. But something he did tonight was plain a simple a dick move.  When the Tenacious Two were making their entrance my buddy Alex put his fist up to them for a fist bump and Wild spit on his own hand and smacked it down on Alex's splattering his spit.  That wasn't Wild "being a heel" that was Wild being an asshole and I don't have any respect for him anymore.

Over the Top Rope and Under the Table Challenge
"Top Shelf" Troy Nelson vs. "Dirt Dawg" Jeremy Leary
Essentially in this match if you are thrown over the top rope and when both feet touch the floor, you have to take a shot.  So the after several times of them each having to take a shot Nelson threw the referee out of the ring, then Anthony Greene, then Xavier Bell, and a couple other guys, and finally the underage Skylar who all had to take shots.

Suddenly Leary grabbed the mic and demanded the music to be hit, which lead to a "Don't Stop Believing" Journey sing-a-long, the entire song.  It was pretty amazing!
My favorite part through, once they were done Nelson rolled up Leary for a three count.

Champ Matthews vs. "Tower of Power" Mark Moment
I was really looking forward to this match an unfortunately after a few minutes of action Moment wasn't able to continue and the match ended.  I guess you could call it a no contest.

There was one spot in the match that blew me away.  Matthew was on the canvas in the corner when Moment grabbed his ankles and pulled him up into a piledriver position executing the move.

Champ Matthews vs. "All Good" Anthony Greene
Because of how abruptly the previous match ended the promoter sent Anthony Greene to the ring for an impromptu match.

They went about five minutes in an fast paced match with Greene wrestling in his sweat pants and sneakers.  Greene continued his winning ways getting the win with a Canadian destroyer piledriver.

Sadly this was Champ Matthews return to the ring and his last match.  The night didn't go as he planned, but I'm glad I was there to see it.

Adam Booker vs. Ace Romero
I saw these guys battle this past May for Pro Wrestling Society in Portland and that was awesome!  This match was even better.

First off Adam Booker is so good in the ring and he needs to be booked at every Limitless show without hesitation. These two guys tore it up in a hard hitting match that spilled around the ring.  Booker hitting a german suplex on Romero is impressive as hell.

I could watch these guys wrestle time and time again. Ace got the win this go round.

Five Way: Cam Zagami vs. Tyler Nito vs. Skylar vs. Mike Graca vs. Mike Montero
This was a crazy good match that was all over the place.  I am big fan of pretty much everyone in this match.  I want to see them at Limitless more.

Skylar took a beating in this match, including sick kick from Graca. She also gave just as good as she took.  Zagami got the win.

The M1nute Men: Tommy Trainwreck & Devin Blaze vs. Todo Loco & Danny Miles
This was supposed the be the M1nute Men vs. the Super Savages, the Savages no showed and the caveat card subject to change came into play.

This turned out to be much better.  This was a very exciting fast paced match.  M1nute Men put on a tag team wrestling display with some great double team maneuvers.  Surprisingly Loco and Miles got the win.

I had only previously seen Loco at Big Time Wrestling, and wasn't impressed with him at all.  Roy and Mikey kept telling me how awesome he was in NECW when they had seen him there.  Well tonight I was very impressed.

Brian Cage vs. Brian Fury
What a fantastic match!  Cage is just friggin huge! Great back and forth action and the crowd actually got into this one.  Fury kept going back to the Boston Crab and finally got the win via submission.

Post match Fury got on the mic and thanked the crowd, he talked about how this is his final year in wrestling with November 19th being his final match in Maine.

He requested that Ace Romero be his final opponent and what stated as complimentary statements at Ace quickly changed direction to a verbal lashing which lead to a pull apart with Ace.

This will probably be the last time I see Fury wrestle as I can't make the November 19th Limitless show because of work.  His final match will be December 16th for Chaotic Wrestling.

New England Pro Wrestling Academy Student Show 10/27/2016

A very unique show presented by the NEPWA where most of the matches on the card featured new students taking on veteran students of the academy.  The show is a single camera shot that appears to swivel.  The picture quality is really good and I watched this on my Kindle Fire 7 tablet.

My only complaint is in part one you can barely hear the ring announcer or the entrance music, if there was any.  The commentator Justin Shape you can hear loud and clear!  In the part two, the the camera changes the pictures is great, but you can't hear Shape too well, you can everything else.

Forgive me if I got any of the names spelling incorrect, send me a message and I will correct it.  Let's get to the action!

Christian Cassanova

Christian Cassanova vs. Patrick Williams
In just his second match Williams put on a great performance giving Cassanova  a run for his money.  Cassanova got the win with what looked like a scissors kick in just over 8 minutes.  I've seen Cassanova before, I really like his Michael Jackson gimmick and he has really improved over the last few years into a a very solid competitor.

Just Ike vs. Marcos Santiago
I haven't heard of Ike, this is Santiago's first ever match.  At under 2.5 minutes from bell to bell it's hard to really judge either man.  Ike is very odd in his wrestling style, crawling under the ring and biting his opponent on his posterior was the highlight of the match.

Donovan Dijak vs. Bryce Clayton
Dijak jumps the gun with a boot to the face before the bell and beating him down in the corner.  Clayton quickly takes over with a stiff clothesline and a two count.  Dijak takes over eventually taking the action to the floor.  Dijak remains in control back in the ring getting a two count with a vertical suplex throw.  Clayton fires back but Dijak catches him and after back breaker he is just thrown across the ring for a two count. Clayton reversed a choke slam into a spine buster then two high knees into the corners.  Clayton dropkicks Dijak to the floor, then drops and elbow off the apron.  Back in the ring Clayton delivers a top rope clothesline for a two count.

Dijak comes back with a chokeslam into a backbreaker following it up with a moonsault press for a two count.  Clayton catches Dijak coming off the ropes for a powerslam for two.  I cringed on the powerslam, thought Dijak was going to get dumped on his head.  Dijak goes for Feast Your Eyes but it is reversed into a school boy for two.  Clayton goes the top, but Dijak stops him nailing Feast Your Eyes for the pin at the 11:09 mark.
I was very impressed with Clayton in this match.  I hope to see him live in the future,

Mason Sims vs. Robo The Punjabi Lion
Both of these guys are making their debut, and 34 seconds into the match the Punjabi lion gets the pin with a unique finish that looks like a vertical suplex but ends as an uranage

Robo The Punjabi Lion vs. Kid Courageous
After making short work of Sims Robo issues and open challenged accepted by Courageous, also making his wrestling debut.  Lasting 71 seconds Robo picks up his second win of the night with a death valley driver,

Brick Mastone

Robo The Punjabi Lion vs Brick Mastone
In a second open challenge Brick Mastone answers the call.  Mastone gives Robo more than he can handle and after an inside out spear Robo walks away taking the count out.  Mastone with the win in 2.5 minutes.

"All Good" Anthony Greene vs. Leon Lozano 
This is Lozano's first ever match.  The exchange shoulder blocks running the ropes until Greene pulls a side headlock to the mat.  Greene lights Lozano up with a series of chops that leads to a two count.  The men exchange control of the bout until Green clotheslines Lozano to the floor and catches with a dive onto the floor.  Back in the ring Green retains control a cross body block off the top rope is good for a two count.  Lozano sends Greene to the floor slamming his arm onto the ring apron.  Back in the ring Lozano nails a picture perfect hammerlock slam.  They trade control back and forth but Lozano keeps going back to the left arm of AG.

AG fires back luring Lozano into the corner superkicking him and then getting a two count after  a 450 splash!  Lozano battles back reversing an Irish whip out of the corner into a Samoan drop for a two count.  Greene gets Lozano in the corner and delivers a running boot to the face.  He goes for a second and Lozano pulls referee Kevin Quinn in front of him but AG manages to stop in time.  Pushing Quinn out of the corner Lozano nails Greene with a low blow then school boys him getting the three count with a handful of tights at 12:20.
Great match, once again very impressed with another NEPWA rookie in Lozano.  Another guy I'd like to see more of.

Travis "Flip" Gordon & Bret Viginamino vs. Cam Zigami & Liam Christopher
I'm sure I butchered Bret's last name.  A really great tag team match.  Bret and Flip utilized some great double team maneuvers before Bret took on the Ricky Morton role getting beat down an unable to make the tag to Gordon.  Once he makes the tag Flip comes in a house on fire taking about both Zigami and Christopher.

Flip has Liam prone in the ring going to the top, Zigami crotches Flip and he and Liam attempt a double superplex that is reversed into a double powerbomb pinning combo for a two count.  Bret evens the odds sending Zigami to the floor then taking him out with a running penalty kick.  Flip sets up Liam and nails I believe  Phoenix splash for the three count.  Not sure exact time of the match, I'm thinking it was a good 15 minutes.

Mikey Webb

Mickey Webb vs. Josh Briggs
This is Briggs third match.  He's a big guy, looks like a wrestler probably shouldn't be stepping over the top rope to enter the ring when he's barely touching with his toes, has the opposite effect of making someone look big.

This match started slow and methodical but really picked up the last few minutes with the action going crazy including one of the best crucifix drop pin attempts I have ever seen.  Briggs gets the win when he catches Webb  with a choke slam coming off the top rope at 15:27.

The New England Pro Wrestling Academy must be doing something right because if I had seen any of these guys on any other Indy show I would be able to tell that they were green but not this this was their initial matches.  

I look forward to seeing several of them again, specifically Bryce Clayton and Leon Lozano.
