Signed Trading Cards: Kris Statlander, Ashley Vox, The North, and more

In this post but you can look at the cards that I got signed at Limitless Wrestling Flirtin' With Disaster on January 24th in Yarmouth, Maine.  Most of the cards are from Limitless Wrestling series 2 card set.  The cards were made by Todd Graham of Proving Ground Brand where you to can get your own custom trading cards made.  Following the link above of catch him on Facebook.

Kris Statlander

Kris Statlander was a surprise unannounced participant in the match.  I bought this pack of Limitless Series 2 cards after I say that she was there.  This card was in the front of the pack.  I was happy to get it signed, with her under contract with AEW I wasn't sure if she would be back with Limitless Wrestling.  I thought last month would be the last month, but she is advertised for February.  YEAH!

Ethan Page

I bought a pack of Limitless cards at the show because this card was on the front of the pack.  I got two of the cards this night as there was one in the pack with the Kris Stat card.  I gave that one to Page and he was very excited to have it.

Josh Alexander

I bought this card from huskerhavs wrestling cards, it's part of the Jim Lyman Memorial Tournament card set.  These are great cards well designed, however, not a great picture as Josh Briggs is more visible than Josh Alexander is on it.

Alshley Vox

The last couple months Delmi Exo, Ashley's sister has been at the Limitless shows watching.  I bought this card from huskerhavs, it's part of the Sabotage Wrestling card set featuring the Sea Stars. The day before this show I read on Twitter that Delmi is on her way to Japan for a two month stint at the Stardom Dojo, great for her, but not for me as I now have to wait a few months to get her to sign this.

Brian Pilman Jr

The first card I bought from Pillman for $5, the other two I had.  The middle card is from the Starrcast II card set and the third is from 4 Corners Cards.

Christian Casanova

This card is also from the Limitless Wrestling Series 2 card set.

Team Limitless...a work in progress

This card is from the Limitless Wrestling Series 2 card set, it features team Limitless from the December 2018 Limitless Wrestling vs. Blitzkrieg Pro show that was held in Connecticut.  I got it signed by Ashley Vox, Danger Kid, & Ava Everett. I need to get it signed by Anthony Greene, Aiden Agro, Alexander Lee, and Angel Sinclair.  It'll be pretty bad ass when it's all signed.

Live Report: Limitless Wrestling 1/24/2020

Limitless Wrestling kicked off their 2020 season in a big way Friday January 24th in Yarmouth, Maine with Flirtin' With Disaster!

Roy meet me at my house and we drove down together.  We met Mikey and Carolyn at the show

From the moment the name of this show was announced it reminded me of the Molly Hatchet song of the same name.  Every time I saw a new post or notification of the show the song popped into my head.  If Randy didn't open the show with this blaring over the speakers it would be a crime.  Well the didn't start with a recording of the song, it started with Ryan Curry rocking it out on the guitar and Rich Palladino belted and awesome rendition of the track!  What a way to start the show!

This show was amazingly fun with so many surprises through-out the night.  The crowd was amazing and the place was sold out, even the standing room only.  I heard they had to turn away about 40 people at the door.  Stinks for them, but good news for Limitless, people shouldn't hesitate to grab a ticket when they can.
I didn't get many pictures because my phone had low battery.

James Drake vs. Brian Pillman Jr.

The second generation star making his Maine and Limitless debut and he couldn't have drawn a tougher card than the blue collar bad ass and fan favorite James Drake.  I personally am a huge fan of Drake, he is a guy that would have thrived back in the day with the likes of Hansen, Brody, Murdoch, and others of similar ilk.

To say this match was hard hitting would be an understatement to say the least.  These two beat the tar out of each other with Pillman taking the brunt of the punishment.  Including a wicked foreman right into Pillman's mush.

Junior busted out a couple his his dad's signature moves including the springboard clothesline and cross body block off the second rope.  Drake hit the vader bomb and his always impressive moonsault.  Drake walked away with the win.

After the show I spoke with Pillman and he stated that this was the first time that they had ever wrestled and they had never touched before in the ring.  That adds so much to the match and I can't want to watch it back on IWTV.

"The Prize" Alec Price vs. Danhausen

Price has got some heat with the audience and Danhausen is beloved.  This was a good match, the crowd was into it which always helps.  Danhausen worked in his no swearing, tequila, and teeth spots.  In the end though a low blow while the referee was picking up teeth and that step up kick the back of the head that Price uses for a finish gave him his first win the Limitless Wrestling.

Legit Price is a face of the future not just in Limitless or New England, but in the world of professional wrestling.

"Red Death" Daniel Garcia vs. Oswald Project

Garcia getting that big time heat from the moment he entered the ring.  At first he seemed to be the reluctant heel but by the end of the match he was embracing the hate.  I'm still not overly impressed with Oswald, we saw a lot more of what he could do in this match than the last but that still wasn't  a lot.

Project spent the majority of the match getting ass handed to him while be begged off not wanting the fight, then when he decided to fight he busted out some interesting offense.  In the end Garcia locked in the sharpshooter and leaned back far enough that he even hooked Project around the head getting the submission win with a nasty move.

Post match Garcia got on the mic and said that this is what happens when someone who gets in the ring isn't prepared the fight.  That he wanted real competition and issued and open challenge that lead to....

"Red Death" Daniel Garcia vs. Kris Statlander

Kris Statlander with the unadvertised surprise appearance.  I thought for sure after November's Last Creature Standing match and with her signing with AEW we had seen the last of our favorite alien.

This was an excellent match!  Statlander is one of the best wrestlers of any gender in wrestling today.  I don't care who she is wrestling Statlander gets a good match out of them.  Not that she needed to work that hard with Garcia who is excellent as well.

Near the end Stat was going for big bang theory when Garcia reversed it into a roll up and the two rolled back and forth exchanging a couple dozen two counts.  In the end though Kris Stat picked up the win.  Post match Garcia attacked Statlander until Ashley Vox made the save.

Ashley Vox vs. Tasha Steelz

This was a good match.  My first time seeing Tasha Steelz live.  Vox worked her fish hook finish through-out the match going back to it several times until finally getting it sunk in good and getting the submission victory.

Maine State Posse: Danger Kid & Aiden Aggro vs. The North: "Walking Weapon" Josh Alexander & "All Ego" Ethan Page

This was announced as a non-title match as The North are the Impact Wrestling World Tag Team Champions.  Mikey and I attempted to start a Monster Mafia chant, but were not successful.  I like that name much better than The North.  This was Alexander's first time in Maine whereas Page has been here a bunch.

As one would expect that was a tremendous match!  Posse continues to get better and with teams like The North coming in to work with them they will continue to get better.  Page and Alexander brought their A game tonight but it wasn't enough as Aggro stole a cradle pin from Alexander giving MSP the upset victory.

In April Limitless is presenting the Prom and an eight team tag team tournament.  I would love for Monster Mafia to come back for this event.

Fatal Four Way: Josh Briggs vs. Jody Threat vs. Alexander Lee with Our Friend Joey Eastman vs. Kevin Blackwood

This was the first match back from intermission and they did a fantastic job bringing the crowd back up from the extended break.  They tried to stick to 15 minutes but Pillman and Statlander had long lines and I can understand the extension.

Alexander Lee came out to Ted Nugent's Stranglehold which is what Kevin Von Erich used back in his World Class days.  I'm probably the only one that noticed though.  Even though she didn't win Jody Threat shined in this match including a blue thunder bomb on Josh Briggs.

Near the end of the match Brandon Kirk walked to the ring surprising Joey Eastman who ran.  He then skewered the head of Lee and then piledrove him on the ring apron taking him out of the match.  He then chased Eastman to the back.  Briggs got the win pinning Blackwood.

Puf vs. Jon Silver

I'm not a fan of Puf, people love him and he's a nice guy, I'm just not a fan of his in ring.  Puf got the pin on Silver, then post match they reconciled drinking a beer together.  I really wanted Silver to take the beer and then beat Puf down.

JT Dunn vs. CJ Cruz

This was a great match!  The two meshed together very well with Dunn continuing to tell Cruz that he wasn't worthy and Cruz proving him wrong.  Cruz went for the BDE: Best Dropkick Ever, but Dunn side stepped him his DBE: Death by Elbow scoring the three count.

After being declared the victor Dunn continued the punishment on Cruz.  Dunn knew even though he got the pinfall he didn't prove what he set out to do which was show that Cruz couldn't hang with him.  When referee Kevin Quinn attempted to pull Dunn off Cruz, Dunn shoved Quinn to the mat.  Quinn then reversed the decision awarding the contest to CJ Cruz.

Dunn continued the beat down on Cruz and Rich Palladino tried to get Dunn to stop the assault when Dunn shoved Rich to the ground.  Well that move pissed off the entire Limitless crowd jumped to their feet letting Dunn know that, that was not cool.  Sincerely you could feel the hostile tension towards Dunn for his actions, and Dunn could too as he wisely left the ring returning to the back.

Let this be a warning to all, keep your fucking hands off of Rich Palladino.

Limitless Wrestling World Championship
"Retro" Anthony Greene vs. Christian Casanova vs. Ace Romero

The world championship match closed out the show, as it should.  Before and throughout the match dueling chants were busted out for Casanova and Acey Baby with Greene being left out of the adulation.  I tried to get the chant going for him but my lone voice wasn't enough.

Scary moment right near the beginning of the match when Ace went to powerbomb Casanova on the ring apron but only the back of Casanova's head made contact.  The crowd was silent while the referee attended to Casanova.  It was a legit unsettling moment.

This match was very hard hitting and high impact.  One moment saw Greene trying to suplex Casanova off the top rope and Ace powerbombing Greene at the same time.  It was wicked.  Greene stole the pin after Casanova his his ax kick on Ace from the top rope and Greene tossed Casanova out of the ring pinning Ace.

Post match Casanova and Greene brawled with Casanova demanding another match against Greene.  Again this match was fantastic, lots of action and some great offense from everyone.  Casanova will be champion someday, just not while Greene is holding onto the gold.

I bought a couple packs of the Series 2 Limitless Wrestling trading cards and managed to get a few of them signed as well.  I detail this in a coming post.

It was a wild and crazy night with some awesome wrestling and fun moments.  I loved the surprise of Kris Stat and the return of Brandon Kirk.  The announcements for the next show at awesome, I'm already excited about next month.

Limitless Wrestling returns Saturday February 22nd at the AmVets in Yarmouth with Anthony Greene defending against "Dirty Daddy" Chris Dickinson and the debut of Trevor Murdoch!! I super stoked about Murdoch coming in!  Tickets on sale Friday January 31st at 7pm.

Limitless Wrestling: Twilight Zone Live Report 11/29/2019

Black Friday, November 29th Limitless Wrestling returned to Yarmouth, Maine for their first ever live streaming show on IWTV with Twilight Zone!!

It was a great night a wrestling and a fantastic end of the year for Limitless Wrestling.  The live stream had a couple hiccups through out the night and dropped once but I for the most post there is a lot of positive talk on Twitter about the show.

Independent Wrestling TV Champion: Warhorse vs. John Silver

Decent opening match, this was Warhorses 15th title defense and I like the fact that they made a point the announce that.  It gives importance to the championship and proves he a fighting champion.  Good back and forth match, there was a split crowd with Silver being a Limitless regular.  Warhorse retained his title with a double foot stomp.

Christian Casanova vs. Myron Reed

Nova continued his winning ways proving he belongs in the title picture.  Reed looked good tonight, a little off at times. I'd like to see him back in Limitless.  Reed hit went for a very impressive 450 splash, but Casanova got the knees up and rolled him up for the small package pin.

James Drake vs. "The Prize" Alec Price

This was supposed to be Drake vs. Dan Maff, but he couldn't attend because of a death in the family.  The surprise opponent was Alec Price.  Boy oh boy did the Prize shine bright tonight!  I have to give Randy a lot of credit for putting Prize in the match, it was the right choice.

This was a fantastic match, lots of hard hitting action, very fast paced at times, and the big man James Drake nailed a moonsault for the pin.  If last months pre-show got is foot in the door, tonight's performance should guarantee Price a permanent roster spot.

Masha Slamovich vs. Jody Threat

This was tough for me as I'm a fan of both of the ladies.  I've seen Masha in singles action with Let's Wrestle, but this match was their singles debut in Limitless.  I really enjoyed this match, lots of hard hitting, a bunch of suplexs from both ladies and in the end the Russian Dynamite needed to put her feet on the ropes for leverage to hold Threat down for the three count.  I hope to see them both back in Limitless.

Take Me Home Tonight: Limitless Wrestling World Champion: "Retro" Anthony Greene & Ace Romero vs. Maine State Posse: Danger Kid & Aiden Aggro

Yup.  This was as awesome as I expected it to be!  Just go to IWTV, sign up for the 20 free trial using the code Limitless and watch this match.  You won't regret it.  Action was inside and outside the ring, lots of back and forth action.  No one team had the upper hand for any extended period of time.  Ace pinned Danger Kid with a package piledriver.

Post match got on the mic, put over MSP and then challenged AG to a title match in January.  Casanova came to the ring, said he deserved a title shot.  AG accepted both of their challenges for a triple threat match on January 24th.

Scramble Match: CJ Cruz vs. Kevin Ku vs. One Called Manders vs. Oswald Projects vs. Pinkie Sanchez

This match felt like something was off to me.  I don't think we got to see very much from Oswald other than he can take a beating eat a shit ton of chops.  What little we did see from Oswald looked good.
I want Manders back for a one on one match with Matthew Justice or Dan Maff or Jake Something.   CJ Cruz got the surprise win with his missile drop kick on Kevin Ku.  I think I need to go back and watch this on IWTV.

JT Dunn vs. Jake Somthing

This match was awesome!  They were different in the fact that stayed in the ring with a stiff and snug match.  Jake Something was over huge and the people hate JT Dunn.  I really dug this match a lot and I really hope we get more of Jake Something next year.  Dunn got the pin with death by elbow.

Last Creature Standing: Kris Statlander vs. Ashley Vox

This did not disappoint.  We got brutality, we got broken furniture, we got the ring boards exposed, and both ladies busted open.  Ashley Vox won, that's all I'm going to say, go watch it, you will not regret it.

Limitless Wrestling returns on January 24, 2020 in Yarmouth, Maine with Brian Pilman Jr., Danhausen and a triple threat match for the Limitless Wrestling World Championship as AG defends against Ace Romero and Christian Casanova.

Limitless Wrestling: Hooked on a Friedman Live Report

May 10, 2019 Limitless Wrestling returned to the Westbrook Armory with Hooked on a Friedman,

My wife and youngest son have been gone for the week with her mother to visit family in Maryland, I started and ended my time alone going to wrestling.  Not a bad way to spend the week.

I've said this before and I'll keep saying it again and again but I love the wrestling community that I am apart of.  One that continues to grow thanks to the combination of outstanding wrestling that Limitless brings to Maine along with social media connections.

I drove to the show tonight by myself, but I did not attend the show alone, not by a long shot.  Phil was there, I sat two people away from Phil at my first indy show in 1997 and basically have seen him at wrestling ever since.  It's been at least five years that I've hung out with Mikey, Roy, Josh & Jesse on and off at various shows even out of State.  Before he was the Barber, Bradford and I bonded over Zack Sabre Jr. vs. Chris Hero during a blizzard in Orono in January 2016.

I have internet wrestling friends that I've met because of this blog or Twitter like Brandon, Michael, Armand, TonyO and others.  I've got a subgroup of wrestling friends that collect trading cards.

In the last couples years going to Limitless I see so many people that I recognize at the shows, some I know their names like Cory, Jess, and Wendy.  While others just their twitter handle like Local Aquaman Expert and LWMaine Sign Guy, and many more that I have seen at the shows and sadly don't recall or even know their names but we wave a smile because it's a familiar face.  At the end of the day though we come together for a common cause that is the love of professional wrestling.

The show started twenty minutes late because of bad traffic crashes south of the venue that delayed wrestlers and fans.  But the doors opened on time and Victoria was and Davey Boy Smith Jr. were both there ready to meet fans.

Also the local NBC affiliate WSCH 6 was on hand including reporter Rob Caldwell doing a story on Limitless.  I'm curious when that is going to make air.

I managed to grab quite a few decent photos so I have more on here than normal.

Let's get to the matches;

Vacationland Cup Qualifying Fatal Four Way
Ace Romero defeated Jon Silver, Mance Warner, & "Dirty Daddy" Chris Dickinson

Mance brought a trash can to the ring with him.  My first time seeing him live and anyone that uses Simple Man in his entrance music is awesome.  Right at the bell Mance crushed Ace in the head the trash can taking him out for a spell.  Dickinson and Silver got the can on Mance's head and took turns kicking it wrecking the can and Mance in the process.

Lot of action in and out of the ring in this match.  Mance brought a table in the ring and while he and Dickinson tussled Ace speared the both into it.  Ace then caught Silver coming off the top rope for a sitout powerbomb and the pin.

Brad Hollister pinned Christian Casanova

This match had a slower pace than the first.  Hollister was throwing Casanova all around with high impact moves.  Casanova battled back with some good aerial offense but wasn't getting the job done so he went for his chain.  Kevin Blackwood made his return with the distraction allowing Hollister to finish Casanova continuing his losing streak.

Post match Blackwood cut a promo about being back after his vehicle accident this past winter.  He announced that it would be him vs. Casanova at the Vactionland Cup on July 12th.

It was great seeing Blackwood back, he got a decent pop for the surprise return.  I'm looking forward to seeing him back in the ring.  I hope Daniel Garcia isn't too far behind him.

Kris Statlander pinned "Buzzkill" Pat Buck

Buck opened the match with a promo about being Stat's trainer and that she was like a daughter to him and that she should lay down for him.  Stat did, but reversed it into a small package for a two count to kick start the match.

This was a fun match, the fans are solidly behind Statlander, which is very surprising considering the war she has with Ashley Vox late last year / early this year and she was solidly the heel in that.  We saw some excellent wrestling in this, lots of wristlocks and reversals.  Stat cartwheeled out of a wristlock  and continued cartwheeling around the ring and got caught with a sick spear.
\

Stat reversed a tombstone piledriver into her finisher for the pin.  Really good match

Vacationland Cup Qualifying Fatal Four Way
JT Dunn defeated "The Rogue" Brandon Kirk, "All Ego" Ethan Page, and Adam Brooks

The match went to the floor fast and Adam Brooks took them all out.  Very fast paced and high impact match and at one point just looked like a flurry!  At one point all four competitors were down giving the fans a much needed moment to take it all in.

Kirk bought out his staple gun attempted to get Page, but was foiled by Brooks.  Eventually the staple gun came back into play with Kirk taking a staple to the back and on his tongue before eating a Death by Elbow from Dunn for the pin while Page and Brooks fought to get back into the ring.

Skylar with Jeremy Leary pinned Victoria

She's going by Lisa Maria Varon now but we all know her as Victoria.  Leary jumped Victoria before the bell and he and Skylar laid the boots in on Victoria before the ref cleared Leary from the ring.

Victoria applied a Muta Lock early in the contest and the tarantula later in the match.  Skylar applied her own version of a Muta Lock.  Victoria went for a widow's peak but Leary ran in pulling Skylar down and eating a kick from Victoria for his effort.  While the ref was getting Leary out of the ring Skylar his Victoria with the dreaded "brass knucks" for the win.

Post match Skylar offered her hand to Victoria who took it then hit the widow's peak to send us home happy.  Victoria said some words about supporting independent wrestling.  This is her retirement tour after 19 years in wrestling.

Intermission: got a photo with Mance Warner and we chatted a bit, super nice guy.

DL Hurst & Bret Domino defeated Thick Boys: Jay Freddie and Puf

Apparently Puf is officially a Thick Boy now.  Freddie took most of the offense in this match for his team.  Hurst and Domino looked good in the ring, they had some cool tandem offense like all good tag teams should have.

At one point Freddie was down, Puf took out Hurst and Domino.  He grabbed a beer to bring Freddie back into the things.  This lead to Jon Silver coming out and some scuffling between the teammates.  This was enough for Hurst to get the pin on Freddie.

Post match Freddie tried to fix things between Puf and Silver.  This lead to announcing they would settle their differences in a Denim Vest on a Pole match at the Vactionland Cup with Freddie being the special referee.

Allie Kat pinned "Heartcore" Shazza Mckenzie

I'm a big fan of Allie Kat, glad to see her back as I haven't seen her in over a year.  I think she is great and that being said I didn't think the same of this match.  It had some really good moments and a strong finish but the beginning looked like Shazza was moving in slow motion.  Her movements were very telegraphed and deliberate the fans around me thought the same thing.

Shazza delivered a series of wicked kicks to Allie when she was in the ropes.  Shazza also locked in a rear naked chocked a few times but Allie managed to comeback and hit the pussy piledriver for the pin.

New Hart Foundation: Davey Boy Smith Jr & Teddy Hart defeated Maine State Posse: Aidan Aggro & Danger Kid

This was tremendous!  Smith and Hart dominated the match with their high impact offense but Aggro and Danger Kid hung with them the whole time.  We say Davey Boy deliver the shoulder powerslam both running from the corner and off the second rope.

Smith pressed DangerKid and Teddy jumped off the top rope grabbing on the way down for a DDT, it was nuts!  Kid even took the Doomsday Canadian Destroyer with Smith pinning Kid for the win.

I honestly can't do this match justice because it was so good and unique.  Fans were hot through the whole match.  Post match both Smith and Hart cut promo's thanking the fans, putting over Limitless Wrestling and wrestling as a whole in general.

Limitless Wrestling World Champion: Maxwell Jacob Friedman with JT Dunn pinned Ashley Vox

Normally I won't call indy titles a World Championship but MJF has defended the title in both England and Canada, so it qualifies.  Dunn came out with MJF but a few minutes into the match was ejected from ringside.

MJF opened with a scathing promo about putting down Vox and women in general generating a lot of hate and discontent from the crowd.  Mikey mentioned he's surprised that no one has attacked him yet, I'd have to agree with Mikey.  MJF gets that old school white hot heat.

Ashley would take a tremendous beating repeatedly in this match but each time she would battle back with some high impact offense much to the delight of the crowd.  I was excited to see MJF bust out both a bear hug and torture rack style back breaker in the match.

Late in the match while on the floor MJF pressed Ashley over his head and just threw her into the crowd on both sides of the ring.  Probably would have been nice if they would have tried to catch her.  This was a fantastic visual!

A few moments later while MJF was on the floor Ashley dove at him three times sending MJF crashing back into Mikey and I.  The third time he threw himself back trying to launch himself into the fans, but hit the rock wall that was Mikey and I and didn't succeed.

As a front row fan I know that at times wrestlers and going to crash and land on us, I've accepted it.  I'm not one to dive out of the way every time they come near us though unless the wrestlers yell at us to move.  If either one of them would have said move, we would have.

Back in the ring the ref was knocked down and MJF got the title belt, Vox said that she would kiss his boot as he demanded at the beginning of the match, but she hit him in the junk instead.  Then hit him with the belt and locked on her finish, MJF tapped out but the ref didn't see it.

Eventually the ref came around again and Vox locked her fish hook back on, MJF then violently bit down hard on her finger covering her hand and his mouth with blood.  It was vicious!  He then drove her into the mat with Cross Rhodes for the pin.

Post match the fans threw trash into the ring which MJF encouraged.  He cut a promo saying we were trash and that JT Dunn was going to win the Vacactionland Cup and forfeit his title match.  Dunn hit MJF with Death by Elbow and cut a promo saying he was going to take the title from MJF.

I want to address the trash throwing bit, it was cool looking visual and it showed that MJF has some real heat with the crowd.  But goddammit don't throw full bottles of water and half empty cans of beer.  A bottle exploded on the floor in front of Mikey and I, luckily it wasn't glass.

It was an awesome show all in all which doesn't surprise me in the slightest.  Limitless returns with the Vacationland Cup July 12th at the Portland Club.  Along with was was already announced The Butcher & The Blade, Eli Everfly, & Hornswoggle are returning.  Tickets on sale May 20th.
