IWE report 9/18/2015 Fairfield, Maine

IWE September 18, 2015
Fairfield Community Center

Finally, for the first time in over 9 months I was able to return to the Fairfield Community Center for a night of Professional Wrestling!  The last time I was there was in December 2014 for MEW.  I actually found myself getting very excited when I hit the exit ramp knowing what was to come.

I met up with Roy at the Fairfield House of Pizza for some pie and great wrestling conversation.

We were met at the show by Mikey and Phil was there.  The show started 15 minutes late, which is not surprising.  What was surprising was that the rest of the show was well timed out with a reasonable intermission.

Here’s the card:

The Mutts defeated John “The Bomb” Bryar and Aiden Andrews after Andrews was pinned.  Sonny wasn’t there so Bomb started the match on his own before Aiden ran in to become Bomb’s partner.  He proved to be useless as he was quickly pinned.

In Inter-gender action Sara D’Errico (Cali) defeated Levi Lexington w/ Beavis after hitting Diamond Dust.  Sara is Cali repackaged and renamed, same wrestling style though.

Primer Inc defeated Big Moxie & JP O’Reilly with Roadblock with a reverse DDT/double foot stomp on O’Reilly.  Big Moxie was better than I thought he would be.  With time and continued training he could be pretty good.

“Tower of Power” Mark Moment defeated Kenyon Mora.  I thought this would be better but the two just didn’t click.

Twin Cities & MEW Champion: Adam Ricker pinned Crash Landing w/ Beavis.  This match wasn’t bad at all, mostly because it was kept to just a few minutes.  Greenleaf did his best to screw it up by botching  clear 3 count saying Crash kicked out, when he hadn’t, that or Crash forgot to kick out, either way it was botched.   Ricker hit the big ending for the win.

IWE Champion: Alexander Lee defeated “Da Hey Man” Eric Johnson.  I thought for sure that Eric would win the belt back on his retirement tour for one last run as champ and even retire as champion.

All and all not a bad show but my favorite part was spending time with my wrestling friends before, during, and after the show.

IWE comes back to Fairfield November 20th with Robbie E.

This, That, and the Future

Greetings!

I haven’t posted in a couple weeks and rest assured I will be continuing my two regular columns soon again with Random Wrestling and Podcast Rundown.  I just haven’t had to time to put much of anything else out.  Not that I’ve disappointed too many people.

There is a lot of wrestling blogs and websites out there, most reporting on current news and events so I tend to not cover those and instead I try for complete original content and that can be hard to come by.  Besides this wrestling blog I have my other personal blog and working on my short stories that I submit to various places for publication.  That and I am completely hooked on the Doctor Who revival and have been watching it like crazy.

I had written a blog about NXT Takeover Brooklyn but hadn’t posted it, yet.  I was going to do one on Summerslam but at this point I’m not going to bother.  Honestly Summerslam was ok, top to bottom Takeover was a better card.  Best matches on Summerslam were Cena vs. Rollins with a stupid finish.  Cesaro vs. Owens and Lesnar vs. Taker.  Lesnar vs. Taker was a really good match.  The finish was done in a great way with the screw job on Lesnar.

If you haven’t watched the episode of NXT you need too.  It was taped in Brooklyn prior to the live Takeover broadcast.  The ovation that Enzo Amore and Big Cas get is amazing and you can tell that both of them are taken back by it.

I’m looking forward to Seth Rollins vs. Sting at Night of Champions in a couple weeks.  I’m hoping the match is better than Sting’s match with Triple H at Mania.  If Sting wins the WWE World Heavyweight Championship he will arguably the most decorated wrestling championing.  He will be the only man to hold the NWA, WCW, TNA, & WWE World Heavyweight Championships.  The only other wrestler that could accomplish this same feet would be Ric Flair is he wins the TNA World Championship, and that is unlikely.  Now if you count the current version of the NWA World Championship then the Big Show could if he won the NWA & TNA.

I don’t have any wrestling shows I’ll be attending coming up, which is sad.  Limitless Wrestling has a show on September 12th that I would love to go to, but that’s not going to happen.  IWE is in Fairfield on September 18th, and I’m going to try to hit that one.  So I guess I don’t have any really good wrestling shows coming up.

So keep reading as I am to fill these pages with unique and....my cat just jumped in the air and caught a moth, it was quite amazing to see...fun wrestling related posts.
