Podcast Rundown July 27, 2015

WOOOOO! Nation with Ric Flair
Episode 12 Jim Cornette
Jim calls in and Ric and he share tales of the Midnight Express, Jim Crockett Promotions, what Jim is up too now and a lot more.

So Ric Flair has s Podcast and you would thinks being a huge Ric Flair fan I would be all over this, well I tried it and I didn't like the first episode.  It was with Kurt Angle and I simply didn't like anything about it.  I didn't really enjoy this one and I think it has to do with the fact that they talked a lot about the JCP days.  I'll check out others now from that time frame.

Colt Cabana’s Art of Wrestling Podcast
Episode 258 Lance Hoyt
Lance talks about breaking into wrestling, how he started with TNA, his cup of coffee in WWE and becoming Big in Japan

Episode 259 Providence LIVE
Featuring Nick Gage, Rich Palladino, Joey Ryan, Steve “The Turtle” Weiner, and Team Tremendous
Recorded live at Fete Music after Beyond Wrestling, a few good stories would like to hear longer podcasts with Nick Gage and Team Trememdous.

Talk is Jericho
Episode 156 Scott Baio
The former team heartthrob talks about his career and his longevity in Hollywood.  It’s clear though that he knows nothing about Chris Jericho.

Episode 159 Raven
Most of this episode is Jericho talking with his son Ash.  The portion with Raven is about 40 minutes long and way, way too short.  He did record more later that evening and will release that later.  The Raven part is fantastic, I can’t wait for the future episode.

Episode 160 Randy Blythe
The Lamb of God lead singer talks about his upcoming book but mostly about his time in a Czech Prison where he spent 37 days on a manslaughter charge.  Very interesting, I will probably buy his book.

Steve Austin Unleashed
Episode 236 Eric Van Wagenen
Eric Van Wagenen is the Executive Producer and Showrunner for Lucha Underground on the El Ray network.  Get the behind the scenes story on how the show came about and what he feels the future of the program is.  Van Wagenen also worked with Steve on Tough Enough in 2011, and has worked on several Mark Burnett shows.

How Did This Get Made
Episode 113 Live Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles II: The Secret of the Ooze with Adam Pally
Filmed in New York City, as always it’s hilarious and of course Jason Mantzoukas makes 9/11 jokes.

Episode 114 Runaway with Rhea Butcher
I’ve never seen this movie, nor do I want to.  Not my favorite episode, took me a few tires to get through it.

The Moth Radio Hour
Blue Men, Psychopaths, and a Bad Date
After many years in the legendary Blue Man Group a performer makes a profound connection with an audience member, a world-renowned neuroscientist identifies patterns in the brains of psychopathic killers, and Saturday Night Live alum Rachel Dratch meets a debonair man at a cocktail party and dares to think he might be Mr. Right.

Snow White and the Screaming Meemies
A 5 year old girl is caught stealing by her mother, a shy writer gives her first ever interview on national V, a child gets caught in the shelter shuffle of the foster system, and a wilderness search and rescue teacher goes out on a ledge to help a young man.

Random Wrestling July 17, 2015

It's time for another round of Random Wrestling that I've been watching, this is all off of You Tube and there is no particular theme.

The 100 Chop Challenge
From Smash Wrestling Trevor takes the challenge to withstand 100 chops, let’s just say it gets nasty.  Uploaded Fed 11, 2015

And then shit got real…..
From PWG Card Subject to Change II Willie Mack vs. Roderick Strong, and what a friggin chop!!
Uploaded June 2, 2011

Lou Thesz vs. Buddy Rogers 1/26/1951
This match from the Chicago International Amphitheatre is a 2 out of 3 falls match for the National Wrestling Alliance World’s Heavyweight Championship.  I can appreciate this match for the history that it represents however, some 64 years later this style would never work today.

The FBI vs. Bobby Roode & Eric Young
German Commentary
Taped August 19, 2003 in Detroit, MI for Velocity this was one of a dozen matched that Bobby Roode had for WWE that year,  Young appeared 4 times.   It thought this would be a squash match with Chuck Palumbo & Johnny Stamboli would walk over them, but they actually had a competitive 6 minute match.

AJ Styles vs. Rico Constantino
I found this match to be odd because it’s a house show match and features no commentary.  It was one of two matches that AJ Styles had in the WWE, the first the much talked about match on Jakked with The Hurricane, this one though took place the next night in North Charleson, SC January 22, 2002.  I’d like to know how this user got this footage, it’s not a fan cam footage.

Apparently this person has a You Tube channel with nothing but Dark Matches, again not sure where they go them, but I’m glad they do.  Some cool stuff in here, you should check it out!

Biff Busick vs. “Speedball” Mike Bailey
C*4 “Crossing the Line Se7ev” June 21, 2014 Ottawa, Ontario, Canada
I’d like to start with how does Bailey fly to the floor like his does, from great heights, land on his bare feet and not break bones?  I loved this match, twice I thought Biff killed him…twice.

That's all for now, please leave a comment and like my blogs page on facebook

Episode 256 Tommy End

Episode 257 James Mason
Colt talks to this British wrestler who has been wrestling for over 20 years and is just 36 years old.  He has wrestled in pretty near 10,000 matches in his career.  His accent is a bit thick and talks quickly so open you ears for this one.

Talk is Jericho
Episode 148 Bobby Hull
Bobby Hull a veteran of the NHL and WHA talks about is long storied career with the Chicago Blackhawks and the Winnipeg Jets.  Bobby was the first guy to leave the NHL and go to the upstart WHA.

Episode 153 Renee Young
Great conversation with the Renee Young talking about being Canadian, how she ended up in the WWE and you will notice she curses a lot.

Episode 154 The Great Khali
It’s a good listen, but I had to turn it up loud as his thick accent and deep voice made him a hard to understand.

Episode 155 The Big Show
Great conversation with Show that exceeded what I thought it was going to be.  It’s a long podcast but well worth taking the time to listen to it.

Episode 157 Tyson Kidd & Nattie Neidhart
Really good show once again from Jericho who has just been delivering with some great content consistently.  Kidd and Nattie delve into the Hart family with stories of tragedy and triumph in this candid conversation.

Biff and Ted’s Excellent Podcast Adventure
Episode 33 Colin Delaney
Colin talks about his childhood, breaking into wrestling, his time in WWE with Tommy Dreamer and a whole lot more.  Taped June 2014

Episode 31 Zane Riley
Zane talks about breaking into wrestling, meeting George South, working at Highspots and more. Taped June 2014

Episode 26 RJ Brewer aka John Walters
Brewer talks about breaking into wrestling, training at Kawolski’s, who he patterns his style after, his run in with Chris Benoit during is jobber days in WWE, how he got into Lucha Libre USA and his future in wrestling.  Taped May 2014

Steve Austin Unleashed
Episode 232 Del “The Patriot” Wilkes
Del talks open and honestly about his addiction to prescription pain medications and how he ended up in Prison for it.  He also talks about wrestling of course and his new upcoming Documentary where you can help out with it at Kickstarter.

Taz the Human Podcast Machine
Episode 30 Tommy Dreamer
Fantastic conversation between two old friends who started wrestling about the same time and traveled around the northeast together.  Listen to the stories early days of ECW and working the independents.  Tommy also talks about House of Hardcore, his upcoming show in Toronto and getting TV on the Fight Network.

Talk’n Shop
Episode 52 Finn Balor
I’m a big fan of Luke Gallows and Karl Anderson and Rocky Romero is cool too, however I have not been a fan of Talk’N Shop in the past because the format is a bunch of guys sitting in a room and it’s basically chaos and I can’t tell who is talking and some guys are too far from the microphones, it’s just not interesting.
I downloaded this episode because I knew from listening to others that WWE doesn’t allow their wrestlers to appear on Podcasts that aren’t Austin or Jericho.  They even mention this and thank WWE and Triple H for allowing Finn to be on the episode.  This was excellent, just Balor, Anderson and Gallows having a conversation and it was a great one at that.  I only wish it had been longer.  I hope future episodes are like this one.

The Moth Radio Hour
Fathers
A man who faints at the sight of blood prepares to become a father, a Russian immigrant takes a trip home and tries to fulfill a promise to his mother, a child goes to great lengths to hide brussel sprouts from her father and more

Nicole Kear & Christy Kent

Random Wrestling: Nothing but the Bucks!

OK so this edition of Random Wrestling isn’t really random at all as it’s all about the Young Bucks and nothing but the Young Bucks!   Of course it’s not the Young Bucks of today, I’ve scoured You Tube for the oddest and

Nick Jackson Birthday Brawl
This was posted on April 11, 2012 by High Risk Wrestling on their You Tube channel.
I have no idea when this happened other than before 2012 and it features Nick Jackson wrestling Brandon Cutler in a match that takes places in various locations around I’m guessing their home.  Seriously it starts out in a backyard, they jump in cars go to a different location, battle in a bouncy castle, on a roof, it’s just awesome!  I’m not sure if this was supposed to be part of a movie or something as it ends ominously.  Worth watching though.

Mullet Man & Fluffy the Dog vs. Gallinero & Sexy Sonny Samson
For Rev Pro I’m guessing 2005-ish in California
Fluffy the Dog is Matt Jackson and Gallinero is Nick Jackson in this tag team encounter from early in the Bucks career.   Another match from High Risk Wrestling’s You Tube page which was started by Matt Jackson in late 2004.  It’s a good match showing what the Bucks could do at the beginning of their careers and how far they’ve come in the last 10 years.

Los Gallineros: Uno & Dos vs. Sexy Sonny Samson & Diablo
Rev Pro event The End in California
Los Gallineros are the Young Bucks and they are pure awesome in this match.  There are a couple moves that I had to skip it back and watch again because I hadn’t seen them before.  This match it seems to be was the Bucks when they first got into wrestling and were loving it, having fun, and not caring.  TNA sucked the life out of them and it seems like the Bucks have returned to loving it, having fun, and not caring.

The Young Bucks & Marty Jannetty vs. Joey Ryan, Diablo, and Karl “Machine Gun” Anderson
High Risk Wrestling presents “Highway 2 Hell”
August 4, 2007 Victorville, CA
Straight away, the quality of the match video wise wasn’t the best but that could have been my connection.  Joey’s entrance of lap dancing unsuspecting and unwilling ladies is fantastic.  The Crowd loves them some Marty Jannetty.  If you don’t want to sit through the introductions and want to get straight to the wrestling then skip ahead to the 9:34 mark, up it’s a 25 minute video and only 15.5 minutes of wrestling, better ratio than RAW.
Good match with Jannetty hitting the Rocker dropper and superkick for the win.   The post-match promo is great stuff!

Chuck Palumbo vs. Matt Jackson
WWE Smackdown
February 22, 2008 San Diego, CA
Your basic TV squash match, Matt got in a dropkick and nothing more.

 The Dirt Sheet
WW-ECW TV
October 28, 2008 San Diego, CA
This was an episode of the Miz & Morrison’s show The Dirst Sheet and the Young Bucks portrayed DX in a segment to put over their upcoming tag match and the Bucks took their finishers.

Max Buck vs. Jeremy Buck
TNA Explosion
March 15, 2011 Orlando, FL
Billed as for the first time in TNA the Bucks have wrestled each other.  Solid match that should have been given 10 more minutes of TV time as I was left wanting for more.   They had a rematch on IMPACT on March 31st with Max getting the win.

That’s all for this time around rest assured another edition of Random Wrestling: Nothing but the Bucks will happen in the future.
